Individual Counseling

Whether a person is experiencing depression or anxiety, grieving from a loss, or suffering from a chronic illness, Dr. Ingram is here to support them on their journey with individual counseling to overcome these difficult times. Individual counseling services allow a person to speak one-on-one with a licensed counselor. During individual counseling, an individual can speak freely and without judgment, as the counselor is bound by a client confidentiality agreement. Dr. Ingram uses talk therapy and specifies his treatment based on the client’s needs and wants. The intentions of his individual counseling sessions are to help and collaborate with the client to reach their goals of learning more about themselves and to live a satisfying life.

Group Counseling

Group counseling services are similar to individual counseling in that it has the same primary goals; individuals learning more about themselves and learning how to live a satisfying life. The difference between these two forms of therapy is that group counseling consists of a gathering of people trying to navigate and overcome their own, individual issues, together. Group counseling sessions are a place for a person to not only express their own honest thoughts and troubles, but to listen and learn from other group members' experiences. Using talk therapy, Dr. Ingram leads the group discussion between talking about their personal lives and talking about their in-group relationships and dynamics. Part of group counseling services is discussing the process of group therapy that is presently happening in the sessions. It’s important to mention, Dr. Ingram values his clients’ privacy and requires all members of the group to adhere to confidentiality terms and agreements.

Couples Counseling

Couples counseling services are designed to help two individuals that are involved romantically, to develop an understanding of their relationship, overcome and resolve conflict in the relationship, and improve in the areas of their relationship where they are struggling. During couples counseling, Dr. Ingram is trained to help identify the issues that the couple is facing, establish the goals of the treatment, and plan the structure of the therapy sessions. During a couples counseling session, Dr. Ingram will utilize talk therapy, and partners will gain insights into their relationship and learn how to navigate through difficult times.

Family Counseling

Family counseling services are designed to help family units navigate through difficult family dynamics, address issues, and resolve conflict, as well as create healthy familial relationships. Family counseling can help a family as a whole, help certain members of a family, or even just help an individual seeking assistance with their familial relationships. Using psychotherapy, or talk therapy, family counseling is typically a short-term treatment, but the length of treatment is dependent on the specific issues being addressed and the goals of the family counseling plan. Dr. Ingram’s goal is to have family participants productively share their thoughts and emotions, in order to address the conflicts and improve understanding and communication among family members.
